The DUF2860 (Cj0561c) Family [Function: Adhesion] Seed alignment | Full alignment | Pfam page | TC-DB page
Cj0561c is a probable membrane fusion protein and contributes to intestinal colonization. Cj0561c is the only characterized member of DUF2860. Cj0561c is encoded as a membrane transporter gene whose transcription is inhibited by CmeR in Campylobacter jejuni.
CmeR-dependent gene Cj0561c is induced more effectively by bile salts than the CmeABC efflux pump in both human and poultry Campylobacter jejuni strains

CmeR functions as a pleiotropic regulator and is required for optimal colonization of Campylobacter jejuni in vivo
