The Chloroplast Outer Envelope Protein 24 (OEP24) Family [Function: Specific diffusion channels] Seed alignment | Full alignment | TC-DB page

OEP24 forms a high conductance solute track with a diameter of 2.5 nm. Functional studies stated that the voltage-dependent anion channel can be replaced by OEP24 in yeast mitochondria. OEP24 is a voltage-dependent, high conductance, low cation-selective ion channel. Prediction algorithms and CD spectra revealed that, OEP24 has seven amphiphilic ß barrels.
